Krystina grew up having horses on her parents property and started taking riding lessons from a young age. She rode with Alex Potter for 8 years, a hunter jumper/dressage rider and instructor who was also an alternate in thr 1990 Pan Am games. She has a classical and firm teaching style with a strong emphasis on form following function. Not having money to purchase her own show horse, she was given the advantage learning to adapt to riding many different horses from an early age, showing in hunters and equitation.
Krystina earned her stripes so to speak, she was able to pay her way as a working student & learned everything from barn management , nutrition, conditioning, superior grooming skills. While attending UF she was lucky enough to be introduced to and work with Dutch rider Henriette Borst of Better Yet Equine. "Yet" was educated through the Dutch Equestrian Federation to instruct in dressage and show jumping.
Krystina has experience introducing young horses to the show ring as well as retraining OTTB's for their new disciplines. She brings out the best in them so that they have a second chance at a new life. Her passino for teaching and training grew from there.
Krystina has always been a natural teacher and loves it. She uses the firm but fair approach to teaching her students, horse to human. Whether it is working with a timid child getting started, or a polished junior wanting to show, or an adult that is getting back into riding Krystina is happy to work with each one individually to help them reach their goals.
